Sapphire Stars Dance/Drill Team
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check us out.
The Sapphire Stars are a dance/drill team at Cesar E. Chavez High School located in the South East side of Houston, Texas.
The Sapphire Stars are student leaders who exemplify and promote school spirit, pride, and sportsmanship. They perform at every varsity football game, pep-rally, and some varsity basketball games. They even do parades!
Their motto is dedication, determination, and discipline. Every Sapphire Star practices from 6:30 AM to 8:10 AM everyday to be home for virtual instruction at 8:30 AM. They are consistently showing their confidence and bravery when given challenges. They use time-management skills, self-control, and are prepared for anything in the dance room, which integrates into their school environment and personal life.
The Sapphire Stars enjoy giving back to their Chavez community. Every year they serve food, play games, and perform for "Give a Kids a Christmas," children who live in group homes in the Houston area. Not only do they do the face to face volunteer work, but they also work with Samaritan Purse. Each member gifts a small box of toys, clothes, and toiletries to a child in need during the Holiday season. Outside of the Holiday season, the Sapphire Stars do monthly trash cleanups around Chavez High School to keep things looking nice.
