HELP THE GRIZZLIES TAKE ON THE WORLD

This December, young California Grizzlies athletes are working toward the chance to line up against some of the best youth rugby players in the world.

In New Zealand, the pace, skill and intensity will challenge them. They will need to trust their preparation, back their teammates and compete with courage. They will discover where they stand—and what it takes to go further.

The Grizzlies’ purpose is to give aspiring athletes opportunities to develop through challenges like this. But for many of our players, the greatest barrier comes before the first whistle: affording the journey.

Selection will be earned through ability and performance. Our fundraising mission is to help ensure financial circumstances do not prevent an athlete from taking up that earned opportunity.

They are working for it

Our athletes are taking responsibility for their fundraising. They are being asked to approach businesses, reach out to their communities, explain their goals and ask for support.

For many, those conversations take them well outside their comfort zones. They are learning to take initiative, handle setbacks and keep going. Their journey starts with that effort, long before they reach New Zealand.

Your support backs both their rugby ambition and the young people they are becoming.

An experience they can bring home

Competing internationally can change an athlete’s understanding of what is possible. Our players have the opportunity to return with greater confidence, higher standards and lessons to share with their home clubs and teammates.

They will also know that people believed in their effort—and helped them take the next step.

One donation helps the whole team

General donations will be shared evenly across every player’s fundraising target, reducing the final amount each needs to meet. This shared support matters because our athletes do not all have access to the same financial resources or donor networks.

Every contribution helps make the opportunity more achievable.

We welcome gifts from individuals, businesses and community organizations. California Grizzlies is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit, and donation acknowledgement letters are available for all individual and corporate donations for tax purposes.
